LeadingAge CA Five Things to Know Update for March 21, 2020

COVID-19 Top Five Things to Know for March 21, 2020

  1. Make Time to Manage Stress
Take time away from emails and texts, unless urgent, over the weekend. Let people know you will check emails between certain hours of the day, and take a walk, enjoy your family, and breath/relax.
  2. Family First Coronavirus Response Act
The Family First Coronavirus Response Act effective April 2, 2020. The regulations clarifying certain provisions are not out, so we are waiting on regulations before clarifying. Here is a good summary of the Family First Coronavirus Response Act.
  3. Essential vs non-essential workers
Health care providers and their staff are considered essential workforce. In your individual settings, the guidance from CMS and the state is to determine in your circumstances who is essential and who can work from home. So use your best judgement. Today, CDPH released AFL 20-25.1 to clarify asymptomatic personnel may continue to work under the Governor's Executive Order.
  4. Personal Protective Equipment
Supplies are starting to be distributed. Please get your order in now for essential supplies that you know you will need. Your order will be filled in the order it was received, so prepare now for delays in manufacturing and shipping in the weeks ahead.
  5. Support for Non-Profit Small Businesses
Small business administration disaster relief loans are available for non-profit small businesses.
