The association’s advocacy, educational programs and public relations help its members best serve the needs of more than 120,000 of the state’s older adults. LeadingAge California represents over 625 nonprofit providers of senior living and care – including affordable housing, life plan communities, assisted living, skilled nursing, and home and community-based care; as well as our business partners and residents.


Governor Newsom Issues Executive Order for Aging Master Plan
Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-14-19 on June 10 directing his Secretary of Health and Human Services Agency convene a Cabinet-level Workgroup for Aging to advise on the development of a Master Plan on Aging.

State Budget Includes $1M LTSS Financing Actuarial Study
Recently, the Governor and Legislative leaders finalized the state’s massive $209 billion budget via conference committee. 

LeadingAge Seeking Input on Proposed HUD Rule on Undocumented Residents
HUD issued on May 10 a proposed “Verification of Eligible Status” rule – a seven-page document published in the Federal Register – and is seeking comments by July 9.
