Dues & Verification

Provider membership dues are based on a banded formula tied to program service revenue or other financial metrics as determined by LeadingAge California. The association reserves the right to request supporting documentation, audited financial statements, cost reports, or other financial records, to verify dues calculations. Business Partners and Allied Members pay fixed rate annual dues based on the type of services or support they provide.

LeadingAge California reserves the right to adjust dues retroactively if submitted information is found to be inaccurate or incomplete and may suspend or terminate membership for material misrepresentation.

All-Inclusive Membership Requirement

LeadingAge California maintains an “all-inclusive membership” policy for Provider members. Any organization with multiple service lines, affiliates, communities, or properties that qualify as serving or supporting older adults in California, Hawaii or Nevada is required to enroll all such eligible operations as members of LeadingAge California or LeadingAge Pacific West, as applicable, and to maintain concurrent membership with LeadingAge at the national level.

Membership is contingent upon full disclosure of all qualifying entities and operations. LeadingAge California reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine eligibility and applicability of this requirement, to verify submitted information, and to deny, suspend, or terminate membership for failure to comply.

Joint State and National Membership Required for Provider Members

LeadingAge California and LeadingAge National have a reciprocal membership agreement, which is consistent across all state affiliates. This means that when you are a member of LeadingAge California, you are also a member of LeadingAge National. All annual dues billing is handled directly by LeadingAge California and are inclusive of joint dues for state and national membership support.

LeadingAge advocates on your behalf at the national level, engaging with Congress, CMS, and other key stakeholders to represent the interests of aging services providers while LeadingAge California advocates at the state level. Both provide valuable resources and tools for your entire team, board and residents.

Membership Transfer

Membership is non-transferable and may not be assigned, transferred, or extended to any affiliated entity, successor, or acquiring organization without the prior written consent of LeadingAge California or LeadingAge Pacific West. Any change in ownership, control, or organizational structure must be disclosed promptly and may require reapplication or reassessment of membership status.
