  1. Governor Unveils Dramatic Cuts in Budget Revision
    Included in the budget was a predicted $54.3 billion shortfall. The CalAIM initiative has been postponed and the CBAS and MSSP programs have been eliminated contingent on federal relief. Read more in our budget alert.
  2. HEROES Act Supports Nursing Homes Homes – But More is Needed to Support the Aging Services Field
    On May 12, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) released the ‘‘Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act’’, known as the HEROES Act, as part of the continuing legislative effort to address the coronavirus pandemic. The Act contains new programs for nursing homes, some of which include elements of proposals from LeadingAge, and addresses other healthcare-specific issues.   3. REMINDER - CMS/CDC Reporting Requirement this Sunday, May 17th
    Be sure you have enrolled in the CDC’s National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) to begin reporting COVID-19 infections. Additional information can be found here.   4. TONIGHT at 6:00 PM - We All Play Our Part
    The Motion Picture & Television Fund (MPTF), a LeadingAge CA member, is holding a benefit that will include a special salute to Hollywood and the people who work behind the scenes to make it all come to life. The event will be aired on YouTube. Hosted by Tom Bergeron and Yvette Nicole Brown with appearances by Pierce Brosnan, George Clooney (MPTF Board Member), Michael Douglas, Jodie Foster, Hugh Jackman, Allison Janney, Wanda Sykes and many more.
