LeadingAge California has been chosen to be a member of the California Health Interview Survey’s (CHIS) LTSS Working Group for 2019. As many will recall, LeadingAge California strongly supported a Fiscal Year 2018-2019 budget item that would have provided $3 million dollars to CHIS to add long-term services and supports-related question to the survey.
The California Health Interview Survey, run out of the University of California, Los Angeles, is the nation’s largest state health survey and a critical source of data on Californians health conditions. Policymakers, researchers, health experts, members of the media and others depend on CHIS for credible and comprehensive data on the health of Californians.
LeadingAge California is honored to have been chosen as a participating member, where our focus will be on drafting and vetting critical questions on the state’s LTSS needs, regional disparities of LTSS access and how Californian’s are paying for their LTSS needs.
The first meeting of the LTSS Working Group will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018. We would encourage all members to send in any thoughts or comments that you think should be explored in this developmental process. If you have any thoughts or comments, please submit them to Jedd Hampton, Director of Policy – Health Services at jhampton@leadingageca.org.
