Meghan Rose joined LeadingAge California in 2014. As General Counsel and Director of Housing Policy, Ms. Rose’s chief responsibilities include advocating in the State Legislature and working with regulatory agencies to help expand affordable and service enriched housing to California’s most vulnerable seniors. Additionally, Ms. Rose oversees the coordination of policy and grassroots events, such as the Annual Affordable Senior Housing Resident Advocacy Day, and writes articles for LeadingAge California’s Engage Headlines blog and magazine. She is a registered lobbyist, a certified Assisted Housing Manager, and a licensed attorney with the California State Bar.
Prior to joining LeadingAge California, she worked as a civil litigator in construction defect, insurance bad faith, and personal injury actions. She started her career as an Executive Fellow in the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services. During law school, she held fellowships in the Assembly Committee on Public Safety, the Leon Panetta Institute for Public Policy, and the Santa Clara County Counsel’s Office. Ms. Rose holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics and Economics from the University of San Francisco, and a Juris Doctorate from the Santa Clara University School of Law. She enjoys mentoring high schools students and serving on the Advisory Council for the Agency on Aging Area 4.
