The PACE model provides integrated interdisciplinary preventative, primary, acute, and long-term managed care and support to individuals who are 55 and older and have a health profile that qualifies them for nursing home care. This study compares caregiver burden and satisfaction in a cohort of family/caregivers who completed a survey prior to COVID-19 in 2018 and 2019 (N=3,507) and a cohort of family/caregivers who completed a survey during COVID-19 from March 2020 to July 2021 (N=4,814). In addition, one or more PACE providers will discuss family/caregiver engagement and its impact on reducing caregiver burden.

Dr. Harold Urman is a specialist in consumer satisfaction in aging services research. He earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California and his expertise includes, survey development and design, response rates maximization, psychometrics, research design and statistical analysis. Dr. Urman has presented numerous times on PACE participant and caregiver satisfaction, resident satisfaction in skilled nursing and employee satisfaction and engagement in the field of aging services. Dr. Urman has been involved in measuring resident, family, and employee satisfaction in aging services settings for more than 20 years. He developed a variety of instruments for measure consumer satisfaction including the I-SAT caregiver/family satisfaction and the employee engagement and satisfaction survey for PACE programs.
