This one-hour course is designed to give administrators of long-term care facilities an overview of the four core elements of disaster preparedness, in addition to providing a greater awareness of additional essential elements of a disaster preparedness program for your organization. Administrators will also walk away from this session having conducted a brief gap-analysis of the disaster preparedness programs currently implemented in their long-term care facilities, and provided with guidance prior to, during, and after an emergency or disaster that could impact the operation of the facility, such as natural or man-made disasters.

Regina New is the RCFE Disaster Preparedness Task Force San Diego Inc. Chair since 2010 and the Security, Safety & HIPAA Supervisor at Seacrest Village Retirement Communities in Encinitas, a CCRC facility, since 1996. As a RCFE, ARF & NHAP CEU Provider and owner of LTC Safety Consulting since 2012, Regina strives to educate long-term care facilities in emergency preparedness, safety, and life safety. She added CSUSM Business Emergency Preparedness Certification Program and the certification as an OSHA Outreach Trainer to her long list of continuous efforts to study and learn all aspects of emergency planning and safety. In September 2017 she was awarded the National Preparedness Month Proclamation by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.
