HUD 202 - Postcards
On June 27th, affordable senior housing residents and advocates from around the country will be converging on the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. to rally and ask Congress to protect and expand the HUD 202 program.
Can’t make it to D.C.? No problem. You and your residents can still be effective advocates for affordable senior housing! One way to do this is by directly engaging your members of Congress though a postcard-writing campaign!
To request postcards, please email Jesus Mata at email@example.com.
Once you receive your postcards, sending them is very simple!
1. Organize a group of residents and staff who would like to send postcards.
2. Give each person three postcards, one for each senator and one for the representative for your district.
3. Make sure each person:
a. Writes-in the name and address of their representative on the right side of the back of the postcard,
b. Writes-in their own return address information on the top left corner of the back of the postcard, and
c. Prints their name legibly on the signature line at the bottom.
4. Take pictures of everyone signing their postcards and post to twitter using the hashtag #SaveHUD202.
5. Add postage to the postcards.
