Eric Dowdy has worked for LeadingAge California for approximately 20 years in various public policy capacities. As the Executive Vice President, Mr. Dowdy’s chief responsibilities include working with the California State Legislature, regulatory agencies and the general public to implement LeadingAge California’s public policy priorities. In his current role, he manages the overall advocacy and communication efforts of the association, which includes leading the public policy advocacy team, directing statewide grassroots campaigns, as well as developing public policy and strategy. He is also responsible for overseeing the publication of the association’s magazine (Engage), website, and handling media relations. Prior to joining LeadingAge California, Mr. Dowdy worked for a nonprofit trade association and the American Red Cross. Mr. Dowdy is a former member of the University of California, Sacramento Center’s capitol scholar program where he interned in the California State Senate. Mr. Dowdy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Davis and a Master’s degree in Public Policy & Administration from the California State University, Sacramento.
