Brenda Klütz currently serves as a consultant resource to LeadingAge California membership, in the areas of public health policy and regulatory compliance. Ms. Klütz has 30 years of experience in California state service; with over eight years of working in the Legislature as a consultant on Aging and Long-Term Care issues and 15 years with the Department of Health Services serving as the Assistant Deputy Director and Deputy Director. In this role, she was responsible for the state licensing and federal certification of over 6,000 health facilities, clinics and agencies, and over 250,000 health care professionals.
After her retirement from state service in 2006, Ms. Klütz worked as a Senior Consultant for Health Management Associated, Inc. a national health policy consulting firm, before forming her own consulting company in 2012. Throughout her career, she has been and continues to be devoted to improving and expanding access, quality and choice for health and social services; elimination of barriers to essential services; providing flexibility in the way services are offered, without sacrificing quality; bringing services to people as much or more than people to services; eliminating financial, eligibility and operational silos; bringing clarity to state and federal regulatory requirements; and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of programs and services.
